HP Pavillion dv6500
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Recently I upgraded the WIndows OS on this laptop and there are no readily available video and wifi drivers. In the drivers section of this website I cannot find drivers for any version of windows. I am willing to get whatever edition of windows you have working drivers for.

Hi @AJSLED

Welcome to HP Forums. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.

I understand that you just upgraded the OS and it's missing some drivers.

I'd like to help.

Unfortunately the HP Pavillion dv6500 is an older Model and HP only have Windows Vista Drivers for this Notebook.

You can try updating the drivers from Device Manager

- In Windows, search for and open Device Manager.
- In the list of devices, look for Network Adapters and expand the list
- Right-click the Wireless Driver and select Update Driver Software.
- Click Search automatically for updated driver software.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to install the updated driver.
- Restart your computer to complete the installation of the updates.

Repeat the same for Display Adapters.

Also check for Windows Updates.

Start  button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update, and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available.

If none of those work, you might have to revert back to the original OS that came with the Notebook.

Thank you 🙂

Thank you @KrazyToad

I havent had luck with what you suggested.

I am going to downgrade to vista again and go from there

Where can I find the vista drivers for this laptop? There are no drivers under neither vista 32 bit nor 64 bit. All I get is:

"We were unable to retrieve the list of drivers for your product.  Please select the desired operating system and select “Update” to try again."

Hi @AJSLED

You can find the Windows Vista drivers for your Notebook Here

Note : Select the Operating System as Windows and the Version as Windows Vista 64 bit and click Change

If you are unable to view the drivers, please use a different Browser.

Thank you 🙂
