Hi,
i just installed windows 11 and god knows why I did that stupid HP inc firmware update which just killed my laptop. It’s a gaming laptop HP Omen 15 and exact model is 15t- dh100CTO
So here is what happens, when I press power button LED screen light turns on but no display, blank and fans run at full speed and no capslock blinking either.
I did that CMOS reset and it gives display thay CMOS has been reset with error 502 and it boots but same error again.
I did that Hard Reset too so I googled and found BIOS reset method which was pressing Win + B key with USB.. I did it so many times and it didn’t work and Idk somehow it randomly worked and Bios was installed again but same error again.
I now installed old bios version in usb but Win + B key isn’t working and Win + V key just resets CMOs. please help…

I looked here for old bios and the last bios that actually did something good was F.38
Download it here

HP support video for bios recovery
Click here to see how to recover your BIOS.
Do 1, 2, and the first part of 3.
For the second part of 3 you will need a USB flash drive and possibly an
older BIOS if the recent BIOS caused the problem. Make sure the USB flash had LED lights.
For laptops, step 2 'CMOS reset' there is no CMOS battery nor CMOS switch and no need to open the laptop. Use the Windows key + 'v' as explained here.
To install from USB.
When you power up your system the LEDs on the flash drive should flash once at the instant power is applied. They will then flash about three to five seconds later (hopefully). When they flash a second time that means the files are being read from the flash drive. If you never see it flash a second time then the boot loader is damaged and you cannot recover the bios unless you use a programming tool or replace the chip. You hold down the Windows key + B key when powering up with the USB flash inserted.
Let me know what you find out.

I am amazed that I couldn’t find any USB with a LED indicator on it but anyway, they work on other laptops.
So i downloaded and installed the bios in the usb which you mentioned in the link, BIOS recovery still doesn’t open and here is what happens: When I turn on laptop without pressing Win + B, it’s blank and fan full speed but I can turn off laptop if I press power button one time. But when I turn on laptop with Win + B, response is same but I have to turn off laptop by holding power button. Only difference I noticed..

If you do not see the LED lights blinking when you do the WIN+B then the boot loader is defective.
I suspect there is a hardware problem as the WIN+B works randomly. If memory is bad then flashing a new bios can corrupt the system.
Watch disassembly video, remove both memory, clean them with eraser tip, and put one of them in the inside slot. Note that the author attempted to use superglue to do a repair and the repair failed.
Hold down the power switch for 20 seconds and see if it boots. Try the other memory if it does not.
Sorry, it does not look good and it seem you have already tried all the first things to do.
You can replace the bios, replace the motherboard or possibly program the chip using a 341 programming tool.
(this tutorial might be useful).
An HP bios flash is discussed here
A working replacement is about 260 USD
You could opt for a motherboard replacement but the CPU is not as good
If you take it to a shop for a bios replacement you may end up spending more than a working used laptop costs.

I honestly don’t understand this.. Last time when I flashed USB with F.44 which is the latest one I think, I had to keep pressing random keys, turn on and off and randomly Win + B key worked and whole BIOS was flashed and in the end it showed that Bios has been recovered, something like that. But after restarting, it showed same error blank screen with backlight led on, no display and fan full speed..
Hows this my fault and why I have to pay because of stupid updates…!!!
A lot of people complained about this in past and still same stuff happening

Okay, here is an update on my issue, hope you reply soon.
So I gave the laptop to private repair shop and they tried reading BIOS chip with some programmer tool and they first tried BIOS which they got from some other motherboard and it didn’t respond and then tried old BIOS from its memory dump and it responded but it showed error : 5 long capslock and 3 short capslock blinks. Now it always shows this error.
Before it used to show, some display of CMOS reset which i mentioned above but now nothing and only that capslock error.
The repair person mentioned one 16 MB chip for BIOS and two small chips of 1 MB.
So I downloaded BIOS from HP link you gave above and it showed 6 files:
08746.bin 16 mb , 08746.sig 1kb , 08747.bin 16 mb, 08747.sig 1kb , 08748.bin 16mb , 08748.sig 1kb
He tried programming all 3 16 MB files one by one in programmer tool in that single 16 MB chip and same error. I don’t think he wrote anything in those small chips and he said those are encrypted and if he write anything previous data will be removed.
We tried removing all accessory parts but still same error.

The red light blinks five times, and then three, short white light blinks (5 long red, 3 short white)
This condition indicates that the embedded controller cannot reach the BIOS within the established time limit.
Remove all accessory devices from the notebook.
Contact HP Customer Support if the issue persists.
it looks like you have done all that can be done.
if you do a lot of gaming consider getting a desktop system or building one like our upgrade expert @NonSequitur777 did
