Accidentally deleted my partitions and need to do a factory restore.  I cannot find the link to download the media or request a restore disk.  The link does not exist for my laptop model.

The product key is embedded into the UEFI firmware of the motherboard.

You can use this utility to retrieve it:  https://github.com/Superfly-Inc/ShowKeyPlus/releases/download/ShowKeyPlus6125/ShowKeyPlus.zip

The Recovery Media from HP will automatically read that product key,so you won't have to manually enter it.

Good Luck

Hello;

Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!

The HP product page for your laptop shows it coming in two models, one with Win8.1, the other with Win10.

If yours originally had Win8.1, you can order HP Recovery Media from this page:  http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-OMEN-15-5000-Notebook-PC/7281265/model/7835587

The link is near the bottom of the page.

If yours originally had Win10, you should be able to order media from this link:  http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/bph07143

Good Luck

Strange... I can't get to either of those urls. They return an invalid url error. Both on my cell and my desktops. Seems like HP support it having issues.

@Bigdaddyjsb

I just tried both URLs -- and I have no problem getting to either of them.

You should try again.

They finally started working.  Not sure what that was about.  I ordered the replacement.  On a side note.  Where does HP keep my Windows Serial?  I could install Windows 10 but I don't have a serial on the back of the laptop.
