Pavilion g6 1240sa

I purchased the laptop with preinstalled operating system- Windows 7.

Last year I upgraded to Windows 10. I want to revert back to Windows 7, a clean install, but unable to do so as I don't have the disc or file for the preinstalled OS.

Microsoft have checked my license and say I need to contact the manufacturer- HP. On the site there is no information how I can download Windows 7 to reinstall.

I want to do this as: Last Sunday the computer worked fine. There was a scheduled update Sunday evening, which continues to try to update. I cannot open any files, there is no system restore point, can't open any downloads, trouble shooter doesn't work. The only thing I am able to do is go onto the inernet, check emails and surf.

So I have decided to try a clean install.

Hi:

I checked to see if HP or their e-partner Best2Serve sell recovery media for your model, and unfortunately they don't.

So, the only suggestion I can offer is this...

This site claims to have genuine, unadulterated W7 ISO files for download...

https://www.heidoc.net/joomla/technology-science/microsoft/67-microsoft-windows-iso-download-tool

Click on the link labeled Windows ISO Downloader.exe

You can use either the:

Win 7 Home SP1 the (Retail version, but the  OEM key on your PC's case may work with it)

Win 7 Home SP1 COEM (This version would be for what HP would have used--System Builder)

Then you can use a free utility such as Rufus to create a bootable USB installation flash drive, or burn the ISO file to a DVD using your DVD burning program's burn ISO file option.
