HP 15-ba009dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My grandson has an HP 15-ba009dx and the HDD failed.  It's DEAD, BIOS doesn't see it installed at all.  I want to replace the HDD, and will do a clean install.  The notepok shipped with Windows 10, but I can't find the product key to activate it.

Hi:

If your notebook came from HP with W10, the product key is in the BIOS and you won't need to know what the key is to reinstall W10.

Make your own W10 installation media for free by using the media creation tool at the link below.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

The tool will allow you to make a bootable W10 installation flash drive (you will need a 8 GB flash drive for this).

The software will work with the W10 product key in your PC's BIOS and automatically activate once you are connected to the internet.

Then you can install the drivers and available software you need from your PC's support page.
