Need the storage driver for a ‎15-DY1031WM

Can someone provide a service pack for the correct storage controller driver? The HP support page is of no help so far.

None of these seems to do the trick. The drive crashed and was replaced. Windows 10 and Windows 11 do not have the correct storage controller driver when I try to install either OS.

What model PC do you need the storage controller driver for?

You posted two different models...a 15-DY1031WM and a 15-Dw3000.

They have different chipsets and use different storage controller drivers.

The 15-DY1031WM should not be needing any storage controller drivers for Windows to see the drive and I recommend that since your PC is supported by the HP cloud recovery tool you can use that to create a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall W10, the drivers and the software that originally came with your PC.

Here is an info link for how to use the utility:  You will need a 32 GB USB flash drive to create the recovery media with.

Since you have to use another PC to install the tool on, you will need to enter the product number for your PC to create the recovery media, which is:  9EM65UA#ABA.

Then you can upgrade back to W11 by clicking on the blue W11 Installation Assistant software at the link below.

If you need the storage controller drivers for the 15-dw3000, I have zipped them up and attached them below.

Unzip the files to their folder.  Copy them to a USB flash drive.

Plug the flash drive into your notebook's USB port and when you get to the screen where Windows can't find any drives, click on the Load driver option, browse to the USB flash drive with the storage controller drivers, if you check the box, it will only include the compatible driver.

Click Next, and hopefully Wndows will find the drive and install.

Hi Paul,

It is the 15-DY1031WM  model and it does need the driver when I tried to do a fresh windows 10 installation. I've tried using the storage controller driver from the 15-DY1031WM HP driver site and Windows does not see any drives.

I've tried the HP Cloud recovery tool and it has failed twice. The model # 405F6UA#ABA is the one I used for the HP Cloud recovery tool and i did need to create it from a different pc.

According to the product specs, you need to use the product number I posted to create the recovery media with the cloud recovery tool.

The storage controller drivers from your notebook's support page should have worked, but I have zipped up and attached a newer storage controller driver for PC's with the Intel 10th gen core processors below.
