I was doing an update and I believe I encountered the continuous "Windows Updating" screen that I've heard about.  I forced the computer off after waiting a long time (over an hour).  It tries to go into Recovery Mode, but says the necessary files aren't available.  The recovery flash drive I have for my Omen-17 won't work with this (I've tried and it says it's not compatable), so I need the actual recovery drive for this computer.

Can somebody send me a file(s) which I can copy to a flash drive?

Help is much appreciated!

See if your notebook is supported by the HP cloud recovery tool.

You need to know the product number of your specific HP 15-dq100.

If the notebook is 5 or more years old, it will not be supported by this utility.

If it's not supported you will have to clean install W10 or W11 as applicable by creating installation media with the Microsoft media creation tool:

Download Windows 10

Download Windows 11

Below is the link to the driver page.  HP only provides drivers for W10:

I tried creating the recovery disk, but I got an error that the file failed to download 3 times.

Since the cloud recovery tool failed to create a recovery drive, you will have to proceed with the other options I posted.
