Just asking for a recovery key when the laptop is turned on

Not sure what you are asking for but the only recovery key that I know of would be a BitLocker recovery key and you can refer to the link below for how to recover the key.

 

Find your BitLocker recovery key - Microsoft Support

 

If that doesn't help your only option would be to reinstall Windows on the encrypted drive.

 

All data currently on the drive is encrypted and unrecoverable without the BitLocker recovery key.
