15-d038dx
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

I need to remove the CMOS battery from model: 15-d038dx, and I can't locate it after opening the computer.  The reason I need to remove and put it back in is because I am getting the following: Enter Your Administrator Password or Power on Password

I read post that days if I remove the battery for a little bit and put it back in that could solve my issue.

Can someone please help me locate the CMOS battery for this model?

Your help will definitely be appreciated.

Hi,

The CMOS battery (RTC battery) is under the system board and not that easy to remove. You can see on page 104 of service manual the steps to remove battery

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04341736

However it is not going to help. What you can do is press enter three times when it asks for the password and the PC will give you a stop code. Post the code here and I am sure Expert @REO51ST can help you unlock the PC.

Hope it helps,

David
