My laptop is a old one, using HDD.

Model: HP Pavilion 14 bf103tx

OS: Windows 11

Current BIOS version: Insyde F.31, 30/10/2017

I'm trying to install the latest version of BIOS F.47 Rev.A 18/12/2020

Support.hp.com detects my device is using Windows 10, not Windows 11. So according to the website, I don't need to download any drivers..... if I'm using Windows 10, which I'm not.

Tips? Thank you.

Hi @LYA1,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your computer is running Windows 10, you should be able to install the latest version of BIOS F.47 Rev.A 18/12/2020. The fact that your device is not detected as using Windows 11 should not affect the BIOS installation process.

Here are the steps you can follow to install the latest BIOS version on your computer.

  1. Go to the HP support website and search for your computer's model number.
  2. From the list of available downloads, locate the BIOS update and download it.
  3. Once the download is complete, navigate to the folder where the file was downloaded and double-click on the file to extract it.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the BIOS update. Make sure to read the instructions carefully and follow them exactly.
  5. Once the BIOS update is complete, restart your computer to complete the installation process.

It's important to note that updating the BIOS can be risky, and if done improperly, it can cause serious problems with your computer. Therefore, it's recommended that you back up all important data before proceeding with the BIOS update.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
