Hi:

The only suggestion I can offer would be to use the HP cloud recovery tool and a 32 GB USB flash drive to create a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall Windows, the drivers and the software that originally came with your PC.

Here is an info link for how to use the utility.

HP Consumer PCs - Using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool in Windows 11 and 10 | HP® Customer Support

Since you have to use the utility on another PC, you will need to enter your PC's product number in the tool's search window in order to proceed to make the recovery media.

Your PC's product number is:  7X639UA#ABL

You will lose all data currently stored on the drive by using this method of factory resetting your PC.

Sorry, the file that downloaded is    pdr-free-online.exe         Failed to boot from USB.      esc, F9 or F10? to boot from USB.    None seemed to work.     I had expected a file that might be named      hpcloudrecoverttool.exe      What am I doing wrong?

Hi:

You can download the HP cloud recovery tool from the link below:

HP Cloud Recovery Tool - Microsoft Store Apps

You use that tool on another PC to create the bootable USB recovery media.

After the media is created, you plug it into your PC's USB port, turn it on or restart it.

Immediately press/tap the ESC key to get the menu of options.

Select the F9 boot options menu and from that, select the USB flash drive with the recovery image on it and press the Enter key.

Thanks for the link about how to use the Recovery Tool.     However, I need the dire t link to download it.    The file that dud download bears no resemblance to Recovery.

You're very welcome.

You use the tool to create a bootable USB recovery drive.

It is not a recovery file.

If you are having an issue downloading and installing the cloud recovery tool, I have zipped the file up and attached it below.

Please carefully read the instructions I posted for how to use this software.

Sorry, that link does not download the Recovery Tool.    Is there a more dire t link?

HP Recommended

Just unzip and run the file.

You click on the little arrow to the right of the file name.

Sorry, there is no arrow to right of the file name.     When I click on GET, it goes nowhere, nothing downloads.       I've been trying for 2 weeks now to recover and put to use my new laptop, getting frustrated.

Sorry, but I am getting a little frustrated too, so this is my last reply.

I have no idea what you are trying to do anymore.

I had posted yesterday that I zipped up and attached the Cloud recovery tool software you need to make the recovery drive.

At the bottom of my reply, so you see that little paper clip icon?

I'll attach it to this reply too.

That is the attached file.

Next to the file name 'HPCloudRecoveryTool.zip' file I attached there is a little down arrow icon with a line under it.

You click on that icon and the file I attached will download.

You right click on the file, select Extract All from the list of items on the menu when you right click on the file.

After the file extracts to its folder, you double click on the file inside the folder to install the Cloud recovery tool on your PC.

Good luck.
