I bought a little over a week ago the HP 13.3" Pavilion 13-an1010nr Laptop, on the first day of use while I was setting up my things it crashed and displayed the blue window with and error code: BAD_POOL_CALLER, since then over 10 times it has shown the same error. I can easily send it back because it has insurance and the return policy is for 30 days, BUT maybe it’s something I am doing wrong. I bought a cooling fan because I live in a hot climate and sometimes overheating can occur (I have a CORE TEMP app that monitors the temperature of the laptop).
Please let me know if there something I can do to prevent this. Or maybe I should just return it.

@dianarenta here's what you need to do, start with a hard reset as per HP standards: Click here for details.
If Windows suddenly restarts without warning, or restarts when you try to shut it down, it might be caused by one of several issues. Windows could be set to restart automatically when certain system errors occur. A BIOS update can also resolve the issue. Use the information in this document to resolve issues with the computer restarting unexpectedly.
If the computer restarts unexpectedly and then does not start to Windows, see one of the following documents for steps to resolve this issue:
-
HP Guided Solution - No Power or No Boot Troubleshooting for notebook or desktop computers.
-
Computer Does Not Start (Windows) for notebook computers.
FOR DETAILS & FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS, USE THIS LINK: CLICK HERE
(By the end of this article all the issues should be resolved)
Also, have you attempted to capture any error message that appears before or after the device restarts?
Did you try updating the BIOS to resolve the issue? (If not, please click here to find and install it)

It took me a while to reply because i wanted to properly "test" if the BIOS update work and so far so good. My computer hasn't crashed since i gave it the update. Thank you so much. Will still give it a few more days just to make sure.
