I purchased a Stream Notebook two days ago. For almost 24 hours, it has been doing Win 10 updates, and there are still more to do. But... the system is out of disc space. The 27 GB disc is full of nothing but system files. The only thing I have on the machine is Norton. I've used disc clean up and cleaned temp files, and system files. Is there anything I can do with this Noteook expect store the OS?

I respectfully disagree with your comment. HP is to blame here.. selling a product with an OS that will not function. I am also at fault for not gathering enough information prior to my purchase. I have always trusted HP products to perform out of the box and this is not the case with this Stream. True, I thought I was getting a bargain and trusted my past experience with HP. Mobility, and price were my desire, but it must function. This does not. After all system updates, and removing all old system files, I have a max of 8 GB to operate going forward. That is not satisfactory. It will be returned. Thank you.

Hello,
Welcome to the HP Support forum. Thank you for posting .
- You should uninstall unwanted and unnecessary applications
- You can use free disk space analyzer software such as the great TreeSize >> http://www.jam-software.com/treesize_free/
It can tell you which stuff you have on your computer uses the most space.
- You can run programs such as CCleaner (www.piriform.com) or
the built-in Disk CleanUp to delete unnecessary temporary files
>> http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/3012-disk-cleanup-open-use-windows-10-a.html
- Please, also review these articles for W10 updates/upgrades:

and
Hope this helps. Please, let me know how it goes.

Your response is as useless as this Notebook. I've had it for 2 days. I was on the phone with tech support the first 8 hours because it locked up. Their answer.. return it to the store. I did not do that. I simply allowed it to run... for 24 hours to complete all the Win 10 Anniversary updates. Yesterday, it completed 95% and ran out of room. I have installed NOTHING on this notebook.

Hello @patty54
I am sorry if my comment did not help you -I was just trying to be helpful.
Since this is a new computer and if you are unhappy with it, it is strongly recommended that you return it to the seller and and ask for a refund.
However, let me clarify some important things.
HP has nothing to do with the issues you experience. I fully understand your pain but this is not hardware related problem. The software is made from Microsoft. It may not sound good but it is Microsoft to blame here. Windows 10 (unlike other OS) is on a different new model of updating (const... (unlike on Windows XP or Windows 7). After two weeks Microsoft may decide to push some bad driver update or some faulty update or big update - it will be Microsoft faulty for the way they handle updates.
You have bought cheap budget class computer and you should understand what it is made for. What this computer is made for is mobility - it is light, portable. You can definitely do some job on the "fly". It is not designed for running apps that requires high quality graphics and huge resources.
I strongly recommend you read this article >> http://www.wikihow.com/Choose-a-Laptop and consider all the stuff before choosing your next PC.
If you want to keep using this PC:
- please, restore it back to factory default condition (F11 option)
and >> http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04758961#AbT9
- install AU manually
Use the USB installation method >> http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04876361
- run Disk Clean Up, CCleaner eventually
- uninstall any preinstalled Apps you may not need/like
- check TreeSize View
- stop Windows 10 from Autoupdating itself
You can use DWS Lite (Utilities section).

See my post here to free up space:
When you get to the Anniversary update, it can be done with an external drive (USB flash, USB external hard drive, etc.) Just make sure you have 32GB of space externally as a buffer, as my update needed 16GB.
