HP Notebook 15-ac152sa
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi

My sons HP Notebook came with Windows 10 pre-installed.

The hard drive has failed and I have ordered a replacement.

Question: How do I re-install windows 10 (same oem version) in order to activate?

He has lost any recovery disks and serial numbers he may have had.

Laptop did not come with any disks in box.

Thanks for a quick solution before he goes off to university 🙂

Regards

David

Please use the following instructions to create Windows 10 installation media (USB or DVD)

     https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/software-download/windows10

Then use the media to install Windows 10 (must be same version before) on your son's computer. During the installation process, it will ask for a key, please SKIP this and continue.

Windows will activate when you come online because the key is embedded on the BIOS of the machine.

Regards.
