Pavilion13-an1xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I recently bought a new HP Pavilion 13 and I'm trying to set up the account to be linked to my Microsoft account. However, I am unable to sign into the computer using my Microsoft account. When it prompts me for my Windows account password for the second time, it says that "the password you entered for your device is incorrect. Please try again.". I am certain that my password is correct. The troubleshooting details is as follows "Correlation id: 117436b84c510003d2507411514cd601"

Are you using Microsoft or local account?

I would suggest you to press the eye icon on the password text box and check whether you have entered the correct password.

I would suggest you to use On-screen keyboard and try logging into your local account and check if it helps. Follow these steps.

1. On login screen click Ease of access button on bottom left corner of the screen.
2. Click on On-Screen keyboard (OSK).
3. Try entering the password using OSK and check.

Hope this information helps you.

I have tried both the eye icon and the on-screen keyboard. The password that I am entering is correct.

I am setting up my new laptop and I am trying to connect the default local account with my Windows account online via the Accounts sub-menu in Settings

Thank for your update,  antivirus can interfere with your operating system and prevent you from logging in with a Microsoft account. To fix this issue, it's advised to remove your antivirus (If there's any on your new laptop) and check if that solves the problem
