I'm upgrading a laptop for my customer.
The ram from 16 to 32GB and replacing the ssd with a samsung 1TB 980 Pro
I cannot find the Intel RST driver for this laptop
Under the drivers for storage it only lists a card reader driver.
I've tried several different versions but can't get the new ssd to be seen.
I've spent a few hours searching and no luck at all.
Any help would be appreciated

The product specs for the notebook you're working on indicate that it has an AMD processor and chipset so the Intel RST driver would not be applicable to an AMD platform.
Why W11 can't find the drive, that I do not know.
AMD platforms should not need to have storage controllers installed during the Windows installation.
So, what I recommend you do is to use the HP cloud recovery tool to create a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall Windows, the drivers and the software that originally came with the notebook on the new SSD you installed.
Here is an info link for how to use the utility. You will need a 32 GB USB flash drive for this.
HP Consumer PCs - Using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool in Windows 11 and 10 | HP® Support
You can download the software from the Microsoft Store:
HP Cloud Recovery Tool - Free download and install on Windows | Microsoft Store
Since you have to install the cloud recovery tool on another PC, as the one you are working on is currently inoperable, you will have to enter the notebook's product number in the tool's search window in order to proceed to make the recovery media.

I woke up this morning thinking it's an AMD not intel.
So I was barking up the wrong tree lol.
Thanks for your reply and I'm now downloading and creating the HP recovery as I type this message.
Fingers crossed this will sort my issue.

You're very welcome.
I sure hope it will, because I don't know of any AMD NVMe storage controllers you would need for that platform.
The HP factory image would have the required drivers for Windows to find the drive.
I have installed W11 on AMD notebooks with the Ryzen 4xxx series processors and had no issues installing it.
