Product: HP Notebook - 15-r218na
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Added a new SSD - can't get Windows to install on it, or use the previous drive as a USB device and boot to that.  any ideas?

Failure to install can be LOTS of problems.  You need to tell us specifically HOW you are doing the install, WHERE you got the install media from, and what exact errors you are running into, including any messages you are seeing.
