Have a new Spectre x360 14 running W10 Home. Trying to upgrade to W10 Pro. Have a 25 digit key code purchased from Best Buy but get an UNABLE TO ACTIVATE error message when I enter the key. Are there known issues with this?

My guess is the problem is due to different Windows versions. Your laptop came with an OEM version -- and that has one kind of key. The Windows you bought from Best Buy is likely Retail -- and that has a very different kind of key. You can't use the two kinds of keys interchangeably. You would have to install from the Retail version in order to use the key.

Thank you for your response. How does one determine which kind of key he has? The Activation Settings show Edition Windows 10 Home and Activation Windows is activated with a digital license linked to your Microsft account.
The supposed upgrade product I bought from Best Buy is designated as
WIN PRO PACK 10 UPG32-BIT/64-BIT DIGITAL. Not sure if it matters but the Spectre x360 14-ea0023dx that I bought does not have a Genuine Microsoft label. I thought all new computers had to have that label?
