My brand new out of the box HP Envy 15.6 ep1000 with Windows 11, 32GB RAM and NVidia RTX3060 runs terribly slow, can't handle anything with graphics and crashes with a blue screen stop code:
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
What failed: nvlddmkm.sys
Is it a lemon that I need to return or is this HP can fix?

I have the exact same computer and it does the exact same thing. After the nvlddmkm.sys page fault blue screen I often get a WIN32 POWER WATCHDOG TIMEOUT BLUE SCREEN. (took forever to get it delivered)
Also when I put it into sleep mode or it goes into sleep mode I often find it rebooted so sleep mode is useless.
After reinstall and updating drivers which was of no help I deactivated the rtx 3060 gpu in the device manager. So far that seems to have solved the blue screen and sleep mode problem but of course now I have only the Intel UHD Graphics.... which generally seems to work fine but have not really done any high demand graphics....
Also I am noticing the computer is very hot in sleep mode..... just tried disabling the fast start but haven't seen if that helps yet.
Needless to say this has been extremely frustrating.

Hi@Lebowska, @ZBZB1,
Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!
I see you are experiencing issues with the HP ENVY Laptop PC crashes with blue screen stop code. I apologize for the Inconvenience.
I have a few recommendations
- Update your Notebook computer to the latest BIOS from HP.COM.
- Make sure the Windows and HP support assistant updates are up to date.
- Run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics is a Windows-based utility that allows you to run diagnostic tests to determine whether the computer hardware is functioning properly. The tool runs within the Windows operating system in order to diagnose hardware failures.
If the drive passes all tests, continue to restore a computer back to the factory default using Reset PC Keep my files from windows, which will isolate whether it’s a software or hardware issue.
The HP Cloud Recovery Tool allows you to download recovery software to a USB drive. You can use the downloaded recovery image file in order to install the Windows operating system.
Click here for the HP Cloud Recovery Tool (Windows 10) link.
For any hardware issue or repair please click on the link Phone Assist Worldwide
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hi Hi@Lebowska, Thanks for your input. At this point All my updates are updated; there does not appear to be any new BIOS; and ran the full diagnostics. Have not yet done the factory default.
Since I disengaged the GPU I have not had the blue screens. I also started using Hibernate instead of Sleep which has kept it from getting hot.
However, if the computer goes to sleep on its own then i am back to the getting hot and it reboots while in sleep mode meaning it will get hot. As an interim I will extend the time before the computer goes to sleep.
Unfortunately, all of what I have done are work-arounds and not solutions. Still don't have use of the GPU; still can't use sleep mode (because of over heating that causes reboot); and still goes into sleep mode if I leave it too
long.
From all this it seems pretty conclusive there is a problem with the nvidia T3600 gpu (or at least the related software), but there is also a problem with Win 11 that causes it to get hot in sleep mode.
QUESTION: is there a way to have it go into hibernate instead of sleep mode when the computer goes to sleep?
Thanks

Hi@ZBZB1,
Thank you for responding, I appreciate your time and effort.
In the Power Options section, select Change what the power buttons do. Select Change settings that are currently unavailable. In the Shutdown settings section, select Hibernate. Select Save changes.
Click the “Change Advanced Power Settings” link toward the bottom. Expand the “Sleep” section and then expand “Hibernate After”. You can choose exactly how many minutes your computer waits before it goes to sleep on both battery power and when plugged in. Enter “0” and Windows won't hibernate.
Please feel free to contact us here anytime you need any further assistance.
Have a great day!

Hi, did switch to the hybernate...THANKS.... lets see how that works... (sleep no longer appears in the power button)
However, maybe going blind in my old age but did not see hibernate anywhere in the advanced power setting even when opened up all the sub options...... however, it did give me the idea of setting the processor power management minimum down to 1% from the 5%..... perhaps that will reduce the heat in sleep mode.... anyway will see what happens if it still heats up.
Still would be nice to get the GPU back on (perhaps reducing the processor power will help so when I have some time will enable the GPU).
THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR INPUT.
