Hello!

Recently i bought a notebook form ebay (used). It has active warranty, so i was glad, but recently i discovered that it has a bios password installed. I tried to ask the seller about it, but it was unsuccessful, because the language barrier the we have between us. I need to change the boot order, but i can't do that without the BIOS password, so i'm here asking for help. If there is anything that i can do, please let me know.

As far as I know, manufacturer warranties do NOT transfer when the unit is sold.

Howver, but this is just a community self-help forum staffed mostly by volunteers and we are not authorized to deal with warranty service or equipment replacement issues.  So, for an authoritative answer, you will need to contact HP Customer Support directly.

If you live in the US or Canada, contact information is on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/phone-assist.html#section1
If you live elsewhere, contact information is on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html
NOTE: After you get through, stay on the line until you are finally able to talk to some one -- it can take a while!
If you have trouble finding a phone number, then try: 1 (800) 474-6836

Good Luck

Thanks, i will try that. Altough i don't really worried about warranty, since the closest service center is almost 200km away, and i really don't have the time to reach out to them, but this password thing annoys me a bit. I really hope it can be helped remotely.

Thanks for the quick answer though.
