New computer warranty already expired

Pavillion Notebook
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I got a new laptop about five months ago, but only started it up about one month ago. Thinking I need to warranty it, but when I checked the warranty it says the warranty expired 3 years ago. How is this possible?
