HP Notebook - 15-dw0037wm
Microsoft Windows 11

The hard drive crashed on my hp notebook.  I bought and installed a new hard drive, but I am unsure how to get windows back. The original laptop was pre-loaded with windows 10 and I just upgraded to windows 11 a few months ago. I am out of warranty and I do not have a USB backup.  I am stuck with no boot device.

Any recommendations on how to get windows back would be very appreciated.

What is on new HDD ? Did you put Windows 11 on new HDD properly ?

Your machine does not have optical drive (ie CD/DVD) you can build installation media using USB stick then use it to boot and install Windows 11 on new HDD

Windows 11 will activate itself later.

Regards.
