OMEN Laptop - 15-ek0002nt
Microsoft Windows 11

My HP laptop battery is not charging. I’ve updated the BIOS, removed and reinstalled the battery, and held the power button for 90 seconds. However, the laptop does not work without the battery, and the battery still won’t charge.

In HP Support Assistant, when I check the battery status, it says “No battery,” meaning the battery is not detected at all.

Could you please help me with what to do next?

Hi @enesozturk,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I can imagine how frustrating it must be to see “No battery” in HP Support Assistant, especially after trying all the right steps on HP OMEN Laptop - 15-ek0002nt. Let’s walk through what this likely means and what you can do next.

Understanding the “No Battery” Message

When HP Support Assistant shows “No battery”, it typically means:

  • The battery is not being detected by the system at all.
  • It could be due to a hardware fault, a connection issue, or a firmware/driver conflict.

Since you've already:

  • Updated the BIOS
  • Reinstalled the battery
  • Held the power button for 90 seconds

...you’ve covered the essential reset steps. So let’s move to deeper diagnostics.

Next Steps to Try

1. Check Battery Light Behavior

  • An amber blinking light near the charging port may indicate a battery error.
  • No light at all could mean the battery isn’t connected or is completely dead.

2. Use HP Battery Check Tool

3. Try Battery Driver Reinstall

  • Open Device Manager → Expand Batteries.
  • Right-click Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery → Uninstall.
  • Restart your laptop to reinstall the driver automatically.

4. Inspect Battery Physically

  • If possible, remove the battery again and inspect:
    • Connector pins for damage or dust.
    • Battery casing for swelling or warping.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
