HP Pavilion x360 - m3-u103dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I cannot pass the HP logo screen on start up. I get the message "The selected BIOS image was not available"  when I try to update the BIOS in firmware management in UEFI.  I ran all the tests through the diagnostics and they passed. I cannot access system recovery. In the BIOS system diagnostics log I have error codes 0500 03f0 0021 and 0502.

HP BIOS Update recovery in progress

If the HP BIOS Update screen does not display, repeat the previous steps but press the Windows key and the V key. If the screen still does not display, your computer might not support the feature or there is a hard drive issue. Continue to the next step to install a BIOS recovery file from the HP website.
If the Power light turns off, the Power button was held too long. Repeat the previous steps, making sure to hold the button for only 2 to 3 seconds.

I hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I tried doing what you had said and it did not work. So next step is to recover BIOS with a USB jump drive. The only other computer I have is older with Windows 8. I finally got the BIOS file download, after downloading Chrome, and the BIOS recovery utility comes up to make the bootable file on my jump drive, but it does not recognize the jump drive. So there is no where to create the file. I formatted it FAT32, and tried to update the driver, but it seems to just end up freezing the computer during the online search for the updated driver. I have to force stop just to get out of it.

The USB jump drive I am using is probably old. Staples Relay UFD USB. It does show up in explorer and the Device Manager under Computer Management shows the jump drive, listed as "F:\" under "Portable Devices" with a "Value" of "WPD FileSystem Volume Driver" and "Device instance path" of "SWD\WPDBUSENUM" (with a bunch of numbers and letters.) Is this correct? It also shows as "Staples Relay UFD USB Device" under Disk Drives with a "Device instance path" of "USBSTOR\DISK&VEN"...(with the name of the Staples device.)  Please advise if I can make this USB jump drive bootable in the BIOS utility so I can get my file onto my laptop. Is there another program to make the USB bootable file on my jump drive that I can download with Windows 8? Or should I just buy a new Bootable jump drive? If so, any recommendations so I am not buying something that won't work. Thanks!!!
