Hello,

 

I have in my hands an HP computer which does not start anymore.

 

It was bought used and, an acquaintance of mine, tried to reinstall Windows 10. Then gave it to me because it was not succeeding.

 

I will try to be as exact as possible:

- It's an HP Probook 450 G1.

- The Bios is in EFI.

- Secure boot is activated.

- There is an SSD disk, the partitions of which have been deleted, which is in GPT.

- There is another disc also in GPT. It appears to contain HP recovery partitions, but I am unable to initiate the recovery.

 

Here is what I did:

- I have tested the disks and there does not seem to be an error.

- I created a key with Microsoft's Media Creation Tools.

- I managed to start on it.

- I was even able to install Windows 10 without problem on the SSD.

 

The concern this product on restart after installation. I have the message "No bootable image found, notebook will be shutdown".

 

And besides the SSD, nor the disk, does not appear in the possibilities of the fast start.

 

Here is my starting hypothesis:

- At the beginning Windows 8 was installed on the classic disc (I have a Windows 8 tablet).

- It has been upgraded to Windows 10.

- The SSD was installed after the fact.

- Windows was copied to this SSD.

 

But suddenly whatever I try for the moment I'm going in circles.

Since you have the install media made from Microsoft's Media Creation Tool, I would try using that media to cause a repair.  Use that media to boot the PC and pick "Repair your computer" - down at the lower right

It will look at the install and to try a repair.  If that fails, then look at this article

Assuming the install was on the SSD, it might have used the other drive to write the bootmanager files.  Also be sure the BIOS is set to start from the correct drive.
