I've never come across that problem before.

The only suggestion I can offer would be to try a different version of the driver.

Very strange.

I uninstalled it - restart - device manage in clean now,

Your help was very much appreciated.

Before O close this question - I'd like to ask another associated with it.

This whole thing happened because I had upgraded my WIN7 laptop to WIN10.  All worked fine for a couple of years.  I got a virus I could not remove so decided to just blow everything away with a fresh clean WIN10 install.

After the Fresh WIN10 install I could no longer use my USB mouse - only the touch pad (I'm an old fart and hate the touch pad),  I concluded that the fresh Win10 would NOT load the Win7 driver that allowed my USB mouse to work ,,, hence leading me to this issue you were able to help resolve.

Do you think my conclusion was correct?

Thanks

Anytime.

Glad to have been of assistance.

Yes, your theory sounds logical.
