Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Dear all

1)

Why can't I find a windows 11 update in the update center of windows 10?

I have a ProBook 445 G7 with ryzen 5 4500U.

Although I want to use the installation assistant I wait for a message in the update center because I want to know if windows 11 has been prepared for this notebook.

2)

In the List of compatible notebooks for windows 11 I can only find "HP ProBook 445 G8 Notebook" but not a 445 G7.

Does this mean that 445 G7 is not compatible with windows 11?

3)

I would prefer a clean new installation instead of a full upgrade and want to use the installation assistant.

What happens with software that has been pre installed with windows 10 like wolf security and HP sure click if I install windows 11 with the installation assistant and a complete "new installation"? Is this software forever lost?

Hi:

The only information I can provide is that HP has W11 drivers on your notebook's support page, so while it may not have been tested for W11, HP has provided W11 driver support.

HP ProBook 445 G7 Notebook PC Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Customer Support

I suggest that if you want to keep all of your currently installed HP programs, run the W11 installation assistant and do an in-place upgrade (1st option listed).

Download Windows 11 (microsoft.com)

if you do a clean install, the only drivers and software you can install will be the ones listed on your notebook's support page.

However, I do see the Wolf Security software listed on the above support page under the W11 drivers section.

I think you have around 10 days to go back to W10 if you do an in-place upgrade in case things don't work right on W11.

If you choose to do a clean install, I recommend you use a free backup software program such as Macrium Reflect so you can easily return to your current drive configuration if for some reason W11 doesn't work properly.
