Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Hi All, Im trying to install Python in my laptop, but Im getting "missing api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll" error.  I was asked to check for windows update while I was surfing to get a possible solution, I do not find any windows update pending, as I checked for windows update it kept processing and it never gave me any result I had to manually kill the process. Kindly could you let me know if I have to run any diagnosis to check if my OS is working fine, also please help me to fix "missing api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll" error.

You are missing a runtime library that Python needs -- and we do not supply those.

Your best bet, since the library versions vary by OS version, is to look for a Python support forum and post there.  They should then have download links to the various runtime libraries that it needs.
