Hi @BananaLeclerc,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I’m sorry you’re going through this; I understand the concern and don’t worry I’ll help you with this.

To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

  • Do you see any lights on the laptop (keyboard backlight, power LED, charging light)?
  • Is the fan running or do you hear any sound from inside the laptop?
  • When the screen went blank, was it completely black, or does it glow slightly (like the backlight is on)?
  • Have you tried restarting it yet? If so, what happens when you press the power button?

Here are a few quick troubleshooting steps you can try safely:

  1. Force Restart
Hold down the power button for 10–15 seconds until the laptop fully powers off. Then turn it back on and watch for any HP logo or setup screen.
  2. Check the Display
Sometimes the system is on but the screen fails to show anything.
    • Shine a flashlight at the screen do you see faint text or images?
    • If so, it might be a backlight/display issue.
  3. Try with/without Charger
    • Connect the charger firmly and ensure the charging light turns on.
    • Try turning it on with the charger plugged in, and if that doesn’t help, try turning it on after unplugging the charger.
  4. Hard Reset (HP laptops)
    • Turn off the laptop
    • Disconnect the charger
    • Hold the power button for 15 seconds
    • Reconnect the charger and power it on
      (This clears temporary hardware glitches.)

I hope this helps.
