HP 15-da0004la
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi! I recently bought a notebook. In the afternoon, I decided to install my stuff to start using it. Then I saw a Windows update notification that I had to restart install it, so I restarted the notebook. It was a BIOS update. All was working fine, then the HP logo appeared and windows started loading. And again, another reboot. Then I only saw the power led on and a black screen. I tried to restore the BIOS to its previous version with a recovery file in a USB, it failed again. So now when I turn on my notebook it starts the HP BIOS update with a "Initializing..." message, and then reboots. And it keeps that way repeatedly.

I would appreciate any help =)!

PS: I can't start BIOS or system information by pressing "Esc". I tried using "Windows + B". And... Nothing.

@Spoker76 Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that you are unable to update the BIOS.

Start with a hard reset to release any excessive static on the PC:

  • If Windows is open, click Start and then Shutdown.

  • If Windows is not open and the computer has power, press and hold the power button on the computer until the computer shuts off.

  • With the power off, disconnect the power cord from the back of the computer.

  • With the power off and the power cord disconnected, press the power button on the computer for 5 seconds. The power light indicator on or near the power button might turn on briefly but then go out.

  • Reconnect the power cord and turn on the power.

Attempt to reset or recover the existing BIOS (if the recent update was interrupted): Click here

Step 1: Verify the current BIOS version installed and the correct ROM Family SSID for your PC

Step 2: Find the BIOS updates

Step 3: Download and install the BIOS update
