My Notebook is not charging or will power on. Charge light flashes a few times and goes black.

Why would the battery charge indicator light flash 8x and then turns off?

Please confirm are you seeing the LED next to the power socket is lit when you plug in the Power Cord from the Power adaptor?

Looks like you have a damaged Power adaptor and the battery has drained to zero.
