Hi @ConnorC1,

I reviewed the post comprehensively. As @A4Apollo, is out of office for the day, I am responding to your queries at this time. I am back and need to ensure that things are sorted out.  You've done some copious and exhaustive troubleshooting here. Hats off to you for a job superbly done. 🙂 My only suggestion to you is this. If the fan is causing problems and the unit is under warranty, I would request you to contact HP phone support to get the situation corrected as the manufacturer's warranty will cover it for you.

These overheating issues and fan noises point toward a hardware issue with the computer.

Please check this link for fan related issues: http://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c01007591

Also please check the link to reduce heat inside the machine: http://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c01657439

However, if the issue persists please contact HP phone support to get the unit serviced on priority after backing up all your required files and information. I am keeping your best interest in mind and not beating around the bush here. 🙂

Step 1. Open link: www.hp.com/contacthp/

Step 2. Enter Product number or select to auto detect

Step 3. Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"

Step 4. Scroll down and click: HP contact options - click on Get phone number, Case number and phone number appear.

They will be happy to assist you immediately.

If the unit is under warranty, the manufacturer’s warranty should take care of it for you.

Hope this helps.   I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great. 🙂  Please reach out for any issues and I'll always be there to assist you. 🙂

To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help.

this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles. 🙂

Take care now and have a splendid week ahead. 🙂
