Hi:

What is the full model number or product number of your notebook?

Use this guide to find that information...

Hi:

You can order recovery media for your notebook from HP at the link below.

https://support.hp.com/us-en/mediaorder/hp-envy-m7-k100-notebook-pc/7234903/model/7450494/softwareit...

Before you do that, you may want to try clean installing W8.1 for free as follows...

Download the W8.1 x64 ISO file from the link below.  You want the plain W8.1 file.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows8ISO

Use the Microsoft tool that I zipped up and attached below, to transfer the ISO file to a DVD or USB flash drive so that it is bootable.

When you get to the part that asks "Where do you want to install Windows,' delete every partition on the hard drive, leaving just one partition of unallocated space.  Click Next and W8.1 should begin to install.

After the installation is completed, you can install the drivers and available software from your notebook's support page.

How do i download everything then? I did click on the links you gave me.. But when i did windows 7 dvd one and i try to install it it is giving me error message saying it cannot run the file is either missing or corrupt. What do i do? And i did check out for the recovery disk and unfortunately it is not letting me get one... And i could use it to do clean install.. And then maybe my laptop will work right again... Never had this problem before until a couple days ago. Dont know why or whats going on. I did do troubleshoot and it is telling me everything is good..

Hi:

The link to order recovery media is for W8.1.

The link I gave you to download the W8.1 ISO file works just fine for me.

Select Edition from the drop down menu (W8.1) - Confirm

Select the Product Language (English, I assume) - Confirm

Click on the blue W8.1 64 bit download button.

File begins to download.

If the utility that I attached doesn't work (it does for me), use the free Rufus software to transfer the ISO file to a USB flash drive.

Can i just buy a recovery disk for windows from another source online?

HP Recommended

Yes, if you can't order the disk from that HP link (HP may no longer sell recovery media for that model anymore, and haven't removed the link), you can still order recovery media from this vendor, who buys up the excess HP inventory after they decide not to sell it directly anymore -- typically 3 - 5 years after production.
