OMEN 17.3 inch Gaming Laptop PC 17-ck0000 (2Y4A6AV)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi!

I've experienced a video issue after Intel driver update. The screen is interlaced and flickers a bit, even the Omen logo at boot time is gray and interlaced. After clean Windows 10 install and all HP drivers install the issue persists.

Is there a way to restore the whole system to factory state so I won't need to send my laptop for service?

Thanks folk,

W.

Hi:

See if your notebook is supported by the HP cloud recovery tool.

You can use the HP cloud recovery tool and a 32 GB USB flash drive to create a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall W10, the drivers and the software that originally came with your notebook.

Here is an info link for how to use the utility.

You can download the software from the Microsoft Store.

Does the PC work fine after you clean install W10 and use the HP Intel graphics driver, and then the graphics gets messed up when Windows update automatically installs a different graphics driver?

If so, roll back the driver to the one that works in the device manager and use the Micrsoft Hide Windows update utility to hide and prevent the offending graphics driver from installing.

I have zipped up and attached that utility below.

Unzip and run the utility.  It will check for pending updates from Windows update and it should find the Intel graphics driver update ready to install.

Check the box to hide the update.

The program will run again and report that the problem is 'Fixed.'

Exit out of the utility, restart the PC, and you shouldn't be bothered with that driver update again.
