OMEN 17.3 inch Gaming Laptop PC 17-cm2000 (70W98AV)

OMEN 17 laptop seems to be having fan issues after BIOS update to F.13 / F.14.
Fans stop under load - gaming or stability test - basically useless.

Frequent 90B errors on POST.

Can't roll back BIOS to F.11 to check for stability.

Is there any way of rolling back the BIOS?

Are there any Repair centres in Perth that might be able to help?

I have tried to downgrade the BIOS via a USB on boot but get an error message saying the files are corrupted / missing.
It appears that HP have blocked the ability to roll back on this laptop.

Hi Mishelmoron,

Did you ever get a fix to your fan issue like I have?

HP Recommended

Nope. HP knows about problem. I contacted the HP hotline in Poland by phone and they told me that they are aware of this problem. Additionally, the consultant said that it’s an issue with the entire OMEN series and that it’s caused by a faulty BIOS update. I asked for an email in which they confirmed that such a problem exists. They added that they are working on a solution. From what can be seen on the forum, they have been working on it for quite a few months already. Thanks to this email, I managed to get a refund for my laptop after almost 2 years of use, and the seller will certainly return it to the manufacturer. I recommend doing the same. My almost 7000 PLN spent 2 years ago came back to me in full.

Can you please release official documents? I want to show the refund that you are given as a evidence in my country.
