HP Laptop 15-da0xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I developed a Windows OS issue due to a virus, my HDD has been wiped including the recovery partition and so I am unable to restore the laptop to factory condition.

My laptop is currently out of warranty, so looking to find which option would be better to resolve the issue.  1) Extend warranty through purchase of a 1 year care pack 2) Purchase recovery media.

If I purchased the care pack, would HP reinstall the factory image to the laptop? and, would it be covered as the fault would have happened before purchasing the care pack? or would I be better just purchasing the recovery media and carrying out the re-installation myself?  Is this an easy process for example, many thanks.

Hi:

Your notebook should be supported by the HP cloud recovery tool which you can use to create a bootable USB recovery drive that will install the original W10, the drivers and the software that came with your notebook.

Here is an info link for how to use that utility...
