HP 2000-2d50TU Notebook PC (ENERGY STAR)
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

I bought up my HP laptop (Model- HP2000-2d50TU :  Product number-  F0C83PA  Serial number-  [personal info removed]) in early 2014, and the system performed well. But due to internal HDD malfunction, my laptop encountered an error and all the OS files got erased.

Now again I have upgraded my laptop in 2023 and installed an OS (Win8.1) from official MS Windows website, but I have missed by Windows activation key that I have received during the system purchase. Due to this I am not able to activate the windows on my stated system.

Therefore, I request HP support team to provide me the "windows activation key" if possible that was the part of this standard equipment,  so that I may resume back my user experience for using this system.

Hi:

Since the notebook came with Windows 8 from HP, there should be a W8 product key in the BIOS that you can use to activate your W8.1 installation.

I have zipped up and attached the free Showkey Plus utility below.

Unzip and install the utility and it should show you the W8 OEM product key in your notebook's BIOS.

Enter the W8 OEM product key in the change product key option and it should activate Windows.
