@Shawn1107, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're experiencing intermittent issues with your HP notebook. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot the problem:
Check SSD Connection: Ensure that the SSD is properly connected. Sometimes, a loose connection can cause detection issues.
Run HP Hardware Diagnostics:
- Restart your laptop and press Esc repeatedly.
- Select F2 for System Diagnostics.
- Run Hard Drive Tests to check for any issues.
Restore BIOS to Default Settings:
- Turn off your computer and wait for five seconds.
- Press the Power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.
- On the BIOS Setup screen, press F9 to select and load the BIOS Setup Default settings.
- Press F10 to Save and Exit. Use the arrow keys to select Yes, then press Enter when asked Exit Saving Changes?.
Update Drivers and Firmware: Ensure that all your drivers and firmware are up to date. You can check for updates on the HP Support website.
Check for Physical Damage: If the issue persists, there might be physical damage to the SSD or connectors.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
