Old laptop, need bios file to update

Hi

I have this old laptop and i need to flash the bios with newer bios file
I cant seem to find any bios file in HP website. please help

Below is the latest BIOS file F.54 for Pavilion15-ab1xx models (AMD).

when i extract the file i get this file 80AEF54.exe, what should i do with it? becouse my laptop is broken and cant access windows, and if i run this exe from another computer nothing happens.

Right click the 80AEF54.exe file and click 'Run as administrator' and follow the on-screen instructions to create a BIOS recovery usb drive.

Click the link below and go to '3. Manually Recover the BIOS' then to 'Recover the BIOS Using a USB Recovery Drive' for the step-by-step instructions for the BIOS recovery with a recovery usb drive.

I have done that, run it as admin didn't help, I even ran it in compatibility mode from win 7 and up didn't help either, I used win11 and win10 laptops but that didn't make a difference. Please try it your self and see if the file is working.

My W10 Acer desktop PC and W11 HP notebook both ran the F.54 file to create a BIOS recovery usb drive. 

See these posts where other folks with 15-ab1xx notebooks successfully updated the BIOS to F.54.

Not sure why you are having the issue with the F.54. You can try older versions.
