OMEN Transcend 14 inch Gaming Laptop PC 14-fb0000 (9F276AV)

My machine is still six months in warranty. Opened up to a blue screen and error code 0xc000000f

Sent it to HP for repair, it was sent back with a note saying the motherboard had been replaced but it has the exact same error code and I can't start it. HP said because it's a software problem they can't fix it (even though it could also be a hard drive issue)
Was told to buy a USB and download the HP Cloud recovery tool. Did that and  it's failed twice right at the end of the process.

Should this not be something covered in warranty? I can't seem to get anyone to help each time I talk to support they just say to use the cloud recovery which hasn't worked.

Hi @kmc05uk

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

My sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused to you.

We'd hate for you to be stuck in a situation like this. Because you matter to us.

It’s incredibly frustrating to deal with recurring errors like this.

The fact that the HP Cloud Recovery Tool failed twice suggests the issue could involve your hard drive or some other underlying hardware problem, rather than just software.

Here's a breakdown of options to help you move forward:

Double-Check Hard Drive Status:

Even if HP replaced the motherboard, the "0xc000000f" error often points to issues with the bootloader or hard drive.

You can run a diagnostic tool to check the hard drive:

When powering on the laptop, press Esc or F10 repeatedly to access the startup menu.

Choose "Diagnostics" and run a Hard Drive Test. If it fails, this confirms the hard drive is problematic and should qualify for warranty coverage.

Retry HP Cloud Recovery Tool:

Sometimes cloud recovery fails due to network instability or corruption during download. Try these steps:

Use a different USB stick (at least 16GB capacity, formatted to FAT32).

Ensure a stable internet connection when downloading the recovery tool.

If the error persists, this further indicates a hard drive issue rather than a software failure.

Perform a Manual Windows Installation:

If recovery fails, you can bypass it entirely by downloading a fresh copy of Windows:

Visit the Microsoft Windows 11 Download Page. https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows11

Create installation media (USB) using the Windows Media Creation Tool.

Boot the laptop from the USB stick and perform a fresh installation of Windows. If the installation fails, this confirms hardware issues requiring HP’s intervention.
