What started as a non-charging battery issue has grown.

First, the battery wouldn't charge.  Uninstalling 2 APCI items from system tools would fix the issue and the battery would charge.

Then about 2 weeks of (low) use later the non-charge issue happened again. It got to a point where there was something I was doing, like closing the lid before plugging in the charger, or... I don't know.  That would trigger the issue to return.  Doing the APCI fix would work. It was just annoying not knowing why it wouldn't "stick".

Now it has gotten worse in that the laptop shuts off randomly and won't turn on until I connect the power supply, this dispite saying there is over 50% battery life left.

I've timed it and random shutoffs happen seemingly at random. It seems to be about an hour mark.  On the latest it happend after being on for 5 minutes and then 20 minutes after that restart so I don't belive it to be a heat issue.

I tried the hp diagnostic software on the battery and got the following results.

1. Battery failure result with no failure ID

2. Battery failure result with failure ID PU636C-7Q2982-RXG2MFC0EB13

(as I was searching for a way to decode this ID the laptop powered itself off, after turning it back on)

3.  Battery test passed (AC adapter plugged in)

4.  Battery test passed (AC adapter unplugged)

So at this point the first issue to solve is why it randomly shuts off.

Why would I do that when the only error code was on the second try and I've done the test an additional 4 times from when I posted, all with a "passed"status?
