HP Pavilion Gaming - 15-dk0002nt
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello everyone,

I’d like to share my experience with an HP Pavilion Gaming 15-DK0002NT laptop, which I purchased in the last months of 2019. This has been a long and exhausting journey over the course of nearly five years — a journey filled with constant freezing issues, multiple repair attempts, and countless hours spent trying to find a solution.

In early 2020, the laptop began freezing for no apparent reason — during gaming, browsing, or even idle use. I contacted HP Support and sent it in for service. They replaced the fans and reapplied thermal paste, claiming the issue was resolved. Unfortunately, the laptop froze again within minutes of turning it on at home.

I contacted support again, sent it back, and this time they diagnosed a motherboard issue, outdated BIOS, and poor thermal paste application. They addressed all of these and returned the device, again claiming everything was fixed. Within just 3 minutes of use, the same freezing problem returned.

Despite these setbacks, I kept searching. I spent countless hours on forums, YouTube, and tech communities trying to find a fix. I sent the laptop to HP support multiple times, including with video and photo documentation, but each time the response was the same: “Issue resolved.” Yet the freezing persisted.

I want to be clear — I’m not trying to bash the brand. I understand that devices can be faulty. What I don’t understand is how, after so many service attempts, the issue remains unresolved. Even when I sent it to the retailer’s warranty service, they returned it with a “problem solved” message — but the problem was still there.

Eventually, the warranty expired. I took it to a different brand’s technical service — they were kind and helpful and found a potential issue, yet the freezing continued. Thinking maybe hardware limitations were the cause, I upgraded the RAM from 8GB to 16GB, swapped the 256GB SSD for a 1TB drive, and added a 5-fan external cooler. Still, the issue got worse.

I even downgraded from Windows 11 to Windows 10, hoping for better stability. Now, the laptop doesn’t even get to the desktop. It often shows a blue screen error or freezes on startup. I’m at a point where I truly don’t know what else to try.

Over the course of this ordeal:

5 official HP service tickets were opened.

I visited local technicians more than 7 times.

I reached out to 30+ online tech forums and communities.

I documented everything with photos and videos.

And still, no real fix has been provided.

I’m physically fine, but mentally exhausted. I’m writing this from my phone while the laptop sits in front of me, completely non-functional. Honestly, I’ve learned a tough lesson: sometimes things just don’t work, no matter how hard you try.

This might be the last time I write about this, unless someone here has any final suggestions. If so, I’d truly appreciate your help. I’ll also upload pictures of the blue screen and freezing symptoms.

I’m not here to attack HP — I just want to share an honest user experience and perhaps help someone else avoid a similar situation. I won’t be purchasing another HP laptop again, not because of the hardware, but because of the lack of real, long-term support.

To everyone who has tried to help along the way: thank you.
This whole process has been a learning experience, if nothing else.

Best regards,
Enes

I have a few more things to add. Currently, the computer doesn't have an operating system installed, so it doesn’t boot up. Whenever we try to install an OS, the system freezes during the process and the installation fails. All hardware components have been checked — even tested individually on other devices — and no issues were found.

What I don’t understand is this: every time the device is returned to me, I'm told that the issue has been resolved, but the same problem keeps happening. The computer always freezes within 5 to 10 minutes after it’s powered on. Honestly, it's starting to feel like a joke. The most ironic part is that the company who manufactured this laptop can’t even fix its own product. It’s becoming laughably absurd at this point.

I’ve already submitted multiple tickets about this issue, all regarding the freezing problem. Words are not enough to describe the frustration I’m going through. My patience has run out. I’m expecting a real and permanent solution.

Is there no one on the huge forum page who can help? Will everyone just view it and move on?

I did what you said. It may have solved the problem, but when it restarts, the problem in this photo occurs. How do I proceed?

I am currently stuck on the screen I mentioned above. There is no operating system on the laptop. When I try to flash the operating system, I get the Blue screen error in that picture or the computer freezes.

Many hardware parts have changed. RAM, SSD, motherboard, fans have changed. I've reached a dead end.

I sent it to service. There is no hardware problem, but the computer freezes while loading the operating system. It gives a blue screen error. I couldn't figure out the reason.
