Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
When turning on the laptop I get an error saying

'The operating system couldn't be loaded because a critical system driver is missing

Error 0xc000007b'

It appears a fix online is to download a program but I don't have an alternative laptop/pc to save a file - just an iPhone.

Would appreciate it very much if someone could provide an alternative fix

Try F11 key immediately after powering on. On Options screen choose Troubleshoot. On the Troubleshoot screen you can try Reset my PC or use HP Recovery Manager to do a System Recovery which is a fresh install of Windows. Look through the tutorial in the link.
