Hi @Rishi9255,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The error message "Boot Device Not Found (3F0)" indicates that your HP laptop cannot detect a bootable operating system on the hard drive. This can occur due to several reasons, such as missing or corrupted OS files, improper BIOS settings, or a faulty hard drive.

Check BIOS/UEFI Settings:

  • Restart the laptop and press Esc or F10 (depending on your HP model) to enter the BIOS/UEFI setup.
  • Go to the Boot Options section and check if your hard drive is listed as a boot device.
  • Ensure the correct boot device is set as the primary boot option.
  • Save changes and exit.

Run System Diagnostics:

  • When you see the error, press F2 to enter HP's built-in system diagnostics.
  • Run a Hard Drive Test:
    • If the test passes, your hard drive is likely functional.
    • If the test fails, your hard drive may be faulty and needs replacement.

Reconnect the Hard Drive:

  • If comfortable, turn off the laptop, remove the battery (if removable), and reseat the hard drive. This can resolve loose connection issues.

Install an Operating System:

If the hard drive is functional but has no operating system installed, follow these steps to install one:

  • Create a bootable USB drive with your desired OS (e.g., Windows, Linux, etc.). Use tools like Rufus or BalenaEtcher.
  • Insert the bootable USB drive into the laptop.
  • Restart the laptop and press Esc or F9 to open the Boot Menu.
  • Select the USB drive as the boot device and follow the on-screen instructions to install the OS.

Check the Hard Drive Format:

If installing the OS fails, ensure your hard drive is properly formatted:

  • Use a partitioning tool from the bootable USB to format the drive as NTFS (for Windows) or a suitable format for your OS.

Replace the Hard Drive (if necessary):

  • If diagnostics indicate a hard drive failure, replace it with a new drive and proceed with OS installation.

Reset BIOS to Default:

  • In the BIOS setup, find the option to Load Default Settings or Reset BIOS to Default.
  • Save changes and restart.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
