I am a Minecraft player. Very recently, the Minecraft launcher has been crashing and the crash report and dxdiag has shown that this has something to do with the graphics driver. The graphics card I have is Intel(R) HD Graphics 520. The driver version it has at the moment is 21.20.16.4821 and the latest driver that should be installed is 25.20.100.6618. The strange thing is that the driver is for Windows 10 and is supposed to be compatible with the laptop. However, when I install it, it says that the OS is not compatible with the driver. How do I fix this?

Hi:
Are you running one of the supported builds of W10?
Supported OS versions
Microsoft Windows® 10-64 - Fall Creators Update (1709)
Microsoft Windows® 10-64 - April 2018 Update (1803)
Microsoft Windows® 10-64 - October 2018 Update (1809)
If so, see if this works, but first create a system restore point.
This is what worked for me on my HP Stream Pro 11 G4 with the Intel 500 graphics adapter.
Download the zip file version of the driver and unzip the file to its folder.
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/28646/Intel-Graphics-Windows-10-DCH-Drivers?product=80939
Once that is done, go to the device manager, click to expand the Display Adapters device manager category.
Click on the Intel HD graphics adapter listed there. Click on the driver tab. Click on Update Driver.
Select the Browse my computer for driver software option and then at the bottom of that window, select the Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.
Click on Have Disk, and browse to the unzipped driver folder>Graphics>iigd_dch (setup information file), click Next, and the driver should install.
It will seem like it will take forever for the driver to install, but be patient.
After the driver installs, restart the PC.
Then after a few moments a new app will also be installed...The Intel® Graphics Command Center (IGCC).

You're very welcome.
It probably is due to something else since you now have the latest driver installed, and can rule out an outdated driver as being the culprit.
But what that problem could be, unfortunately that I do not know.
