HP Pavillion Gaming 15 cx.....
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

My processor temperature is hitting 98 degress Celcius while gaming, that's got to be bad, now assuming I don't do anything about it, how long till my laptop becomes unsusable. Undervolting and disabling Turbo Boost did help, I had to sacrifice of fps though, but it is still 75 - 85 degrees, is there any fan speed control program I can use.

PS: Please don't give me obvious answers and links on cleaning the vents and keeping the laptop on a flat surface and stuff.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

In general, you should consider 60-75 degrees Celcius is the maximum qualified temperature for long periods used, However, system temperature may shoot up

while playing high graphic content (consumption)

Update the BIOS regularly. Click here to Learn how to reduce the heat in your notebook to prevent damage from overheating.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Assuming you have ALL the drivers and BIOS updated theres not much else you can do. If you had to undervolt and disable turbo boost its already considered 'unusable'. Avoid long hours of 85C obciously.

Few people make the mistake of applying too much thermal paste which starts insulating heat instead of conducting.

SpeedFan to alter fan speeds only if your CPU allows it, mine doesnt.

Extreme action that I took which helped: there was some distance between the fan and the air vent (GG Manufacturer). I taped a light cloth (can use some other material) from the fan to the vent so that the fan would blow heat straight out the vent instead of leaking some inside the laptop.
