had to do a reset. how do I get back all the factory software like cd player software?

Hi:

 

You will probably have to use the HP cloud recovery tool to create a bootable USB recovery drive to factory reset your notebook.

 

I don't see any DVD playing software on your notebook's support page for either W10 or W11.

You can download the tool from the Microsoft Store

Otherwise, you can install the free VLC Media Player from the Microsoft store to play DVD's.
