Hi good people

I hope you can help me.,

My PC has started having this error:

"Windows kunne ikke fortsætte efter dvale med fejlstatus 0xC0000411" (sorry, in Danish, but I guess problem after snooze?).

"System

It means that after a snooze the PC SOMETIMES gets this error and "problem restarts" and I have to recover internet browsers to proceed using the internet after a "snooze-break".

I contacted the HP help service (PC still has valid warrenty) and I was recommeded to put on a new disk image - meaning ALL must be reinstalled. And what about my single-licence MS Office key? I guess I lose that??

I have run/tried:

sfc /scannow
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
I have run misc. hw test from HP Support Assistant -all without solving the issue.

Even if I re-image the PC - how do I avoid it from happen again?

Br Henrik

Hi @DK-Faxe

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand how unsettling it feels to have your PC restart unexpectedly after waking from sleep, especially since you’ve already invested time running system scans and hardware tests.

You’ve done a very thorough job so far, so let’s focus on steps that can help reduce or eliminate this error without immediately resorting to a full re‑image.

Check Power Options
Go to Settings → System → Power & battery → Additional power settings.
Select your current plan → Change plan settings → Change advanced power settings.
Expand Sleep → Hibernate after, and set it to “Never” for testing. This helps confirm if the error is tied to hibernation.

Disable Fast Startup
In Control Panel → Power Options → Choose what the power buttons do → Change settings that are currently unavailable.
Uncheck “Turn on fast startup.” Restart the PC and test sleep/hibernate again.

Update BIOS and Chipset Drivers
Visit the HP support page for your model and install the latest BIOS and chipset drivers. These updates often improve power management and resume behavior.

Test Sleep vs. Hibernate Separately
Put the PC into Sleep mode only (not Hibernate) and see if the error occurs. If sleep works fine, the issue is isolated to hibernation.

Check Event Viewer for Consistency
Since you already noted the Kernel‑Boot error, check if the same error ID appears every time or only intermittently. This helps determine if it’s a recurring hardware interaction or a one‑off corruption.

Run HP Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI)
Restart the PC and press F2 repeatedly to enter HP PC Hardware Diagnostics. Run the extensive system test, especially memory and storage.

Office License Concern
If you eventually decide to re‑image, your Microsoft Office license is tied to your Microsoft account. As long as you sign in with the same account after reinstalling Windows, you will not lose your license.

You’ve already taken strong steps with sfc and DISM, which rule out many system file issues. At this point, disabling fast startup and testing sleep versus hibernate are the most practical ways to confirm the source of the error.

Hi Hawks_Eye

Thanks a lot for your reply.

The problem is unfortunately not solved yet.

Regarding Check Power Options

I have done this (is that considered "Never"?):

Regarding Disable Fast Startup

I have done this:

Regarding Update BIOS and Chipset Drivers

PC is good.

Regarding Test Sleep vs. Hibernate Separately

It seems like the problem is at "Slumre" (sleep I guess):

Even this morning I got this error:

Windows kunne ikke fortsætte efter dvale med fejlstatus 0xC0000001.:

But strangely the error says "efter dvale" which means after hibernation and not sleep/slumre????

Regarding Check Event Viewer for Consistency

I see many of these events - but not all days!
(I am not quite sure of the sequence I do of: power on button - lid open - external power on....)

Fejl 03-01-2026 11:12:44 Kernel-Boot 16 Ingen

Regarding Run HP Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI)

I have not yet run extensive system test, especially memory and storage.

Will do later but first I need to ask if an USB- device could have caused the problem. Pls. read further down.

Regarding Office License Concern

I am glad that the license will not be lost after possible re-image.

It is NOT a 365 subscription but a "old" 2021 licence I bought and had to call a telephone number and punch in a lot of characters to get it work:

New input for possible error reason

Yesterday at start-up I caught this screen:

DKFaxe_6-1767521445259.png

Stop Code: DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE (0x9F)

I googled it and found that it was a power-on error - yes we already know that - but that it >could< be related to some USB connected device....????

THEN I remembered that I a couple of months ago (when the issue started??) had bought an optical CD/DVD drive (gembird P/N DVD-USB-031).

When I plugged it in then it worked ok for some short period/ hours. The PC had D:\ and I could read/write CD/DVD. Super.

But the next day it didn't work. The PC would not create the D:\ drive.

The optical device worked and works fine on my old Win7 PC - but not on this Win11PC !

I found that some memory integrity security function prevented the drive from working due to incompatible drivers.

DKFaxe_7-1767521965480.png

I asked the optical drive vendor for newer drivers but no one available.

Then if I turned off this memory integrity safety function the device worked fine as I remember.

It was not easy for me to see / understand this trying how/what

But I wouldn't keep the memory safety turned off (I guess it is there for a reason) so it is back on again and I have unfortunately given up using the optical drive on this PC.

Do you know of how to get the optical drive running without disabling the kernel isolation?

Do you know of new valid drivers?

Or can you recommend a drive that works on this PC??

Anyway:

But could this USB-powered-connected device have messed up something - and shouldn't this mend it?:

What to do next?

I thank you for supporting me.

Happy new year 🙂
