working on a document I got a pop up saying I needed to shut down to Dave the changes. A message about BIOS came up, and I attempted to reset the pc. Now it has been stuck on a loop saying “restarting” and then promptly shutting down, then restarting with the message again, and in it goes, for about two hours. I tried to force a shut down when the loading circle showed to get the “repair” page came up, it worked once, but I didn’t get the troubleshooting options I was expecting. Once the message “diagnosing your pc” has come up, followed by “attempting repairs”, but then it just went back to “restarting” on a loop again! Help! I am not very technical so please feel free to explain it to me like I’m a 5 year old!

@lmswede

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I understand that your HP PC is stuck in the "restarting" loop, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Did you make any changes to the settings of your PC prior to the issue?
  • When was the last time it worked fine?
  • What is the product number of your device? Use this link to find it: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824

Keep me posted for further assistance.
