after so many tests
hо installed the driver
I explain how I did it if someone could serve

I downloaded this package
https://www.helpjet.net/Fs-56432206-80177087-58952918.html
and then I updated the drive manually from device manager, selecting the folder
C: \ swsetup \ SP58201
(thanks to the advice of Paul Tikkanen)

Actually I had done an update of all the drives with avast first
but I don't think it's necessary

Hi:

Assuming you installed W7 (because W8 and newer include the USB driver), you need these drivers...

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1E3A:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp63501-64000/sp63661.exe

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1E3:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp66001-66500/sp66487.exe

ACPI\HPQ6000:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp62501-63000/sp62981.exe

You're very welcome.

No, the file from Microsoft is for the older 3D driveguard hardware ID of ACPI\HPQ0004, so that won't work.

Did you try manually installing the driver?

Here is a partial copy and paste of the driver setup information file found in sp62981, which shows driver support for the ACPI\HPQ6000 device.

[HP.ntamd64]
%DeviceDesc% = HPAccelerometerDriverInstall.ntamd64, ACPI\HPQ6000

To manually install the driver, if you have not deleted the driver installation folder, see if this works...

Go to the device manager.  Click on the ACPI\HPQ6000 device that needs the driver.

Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update Driver.

Select the Browse my computer for driver software option and then at the bottom of that window, select the Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.

Click on Have Disk and browse to C:\SWSetup\sp62981\accelerometer (setup information file), click Next, and see if the driver installs that way.

Then restart the PC.

Thanks a lot
I ran the whole process, as described
and at least now detects the driver
I have the following message

"the device driver was detected, but an error occurred during the installation

Hp Mobile device data protection sensor

the installation class is not present or is not valid "

You're very welcome.

Unfortunately, I don't know why the driver will not install, or what you can do about that error message.

The only other suggestion I can offer, would be to uninstall the device, check the uninstall driver box, restart the PC, and try one of the older versions listed on this link (under the Revision History section).

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/hp-elitebook-8570p-notebook-pc/5212912/sw...

Try both the auto and manual install methods...uninstall the device and driver and restart the PC each time you need to do this.

I have tried all three packages, with both modes indicated.
I always get the same messages.

In the first mode he tells me:
Problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the set up did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.

In the second mode:
"the device driver was detected, but an error occurred during the installation
Hp Mobile device data protection sensor
the installation class is not present or is not valid "

okay, patience.
Thanks very much for the help anyway.

Anytime.

Sorry that I wasn't able to help you get that driver to install.

I tried every trick that I could think of to make it work.

and they will be useful to me.

Thank you very much again.
